This fantastic book was origionally issued as a 24 part 'monthly'. It was then printed as a bound copy in 1861.

There are sections for every memeber of the household, from the mistress to the downstairs maid, and its crammed full of mouthwatering and some interesting recipes, all of which show the cost to make them.... oh how times have changed.

I have found this book both facinating and informative, while there are a few recipes I wouldnt want to try(not quite sure where I'd get a sheeps head anyway!!!) there are many wholesome and interesting in there too.... lots that I would never have thought of. Its not just the recipes though, the instructions for the members of the household give you an insite to times long past.
